Location
• 1938 – Interstate began in Wilkes-Barre, PA with exclusive distributorship of Perma-Stone, a unique imitation stone made with real masonry products
• 1960s - relocated to Pittston, PA, halfway between Wilkes-Barre and Scranton, PA
• 1960s - granted a distributorship of aluminum products from ALSAR Corp of Southfield, MI
• 1969 - was incorporated as Interstate Aluminum Distributors, Inc. and received exclusive distributorship of Reynold’s Metal Company products
• 1984 – began vinyl window manufacturing and formed Interstate Window & Door Company
• 1998 – Interstate Aluminum Distributors, Inc. merged with Interstate Window & Door Company to form Interstate Building Materials, Inc.
Today Interstate has:
• Administrative facility with 2 on site warehouse spaces
• Manufacturing plant with storage facilities
• 2 off site warehouses
• Over 125 full-time employees
• Fleet of 12 delivery trucks
• 7 outside account managers
